Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java backend services, frontend components, and APIs.
- Own complex technical deliverables, production fixes, and enhancements for the International Processing Engine.
- Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions focused on scalability, resilience, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Drive engineering standards through code reviews, technical governance, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor developers and provide technical guidance across Java, full-stack engineering, testing, and delivery practices.
- Build and maintain automated test coverage and promote secure coding practices.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable improvements.
- Collaborate with product, delivery, quality assurance, client stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Support settlement workflows involving trade confirmations, reporting, books and records, collateral management, and securities transactions.
- Promote continuous improvement in development processes, CI/CD practices, deployment automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in Java, including Core Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with large relational databases, including MS SQL Server and Sybase.
- Strong experience designing and delivering service-oriented or microservices-based backend systems.
- Demonstrable full-stack development experience across frontend components and backend services.
- Extensive experience designing, building, and integrating APIs.
- Experience processing high data volumes and supporting real-time or time-sensitive workflows.
- Experience contributing to technical design, code reviews, engineering standards, and complex problem resolution.
- Strong understanding of automated testing and software development lifecycle quality practices.
- Experience with Git, Eclipse, IntelliJ, Visual Studio, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
- Preferred qualifications include securities trade lifecycle knowledge, settlement processing experience, Docker and Kubernetes familiarity, Python experience, and familiarity with SAFe Agile, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
