Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python/Flask backend services and RESTful APIs for blast, drill, environmental-control, simulation, and optimization workflows.
- Manage PostgreSQL/PostGIS spatial data, including queries, migrations, schemas, and related integrations.
- Develop React and TypeScript single-page applications with React, Vite, TanStack Router and Query, Zustand, and D3.js.
- Integrate and support Python-based optimization engines using NumPy, SciPy, Shapely, fragmentation models, and geometric solvers.
- Build and manage Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Static Web Apps deployments and background jobs.
- Configure monitoring and diagnostics with Application Insights and OpenTelemetry, and troubleshoot production issues using logs, telemetry, and metrics.
- Contribute to infrastructure as code, PowerShell automation, Azure DevOps pipelines, secure configuration, authentication, and environment management.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; support Postman collections and integration test suites.
- Own assigned features and technical workstreams, participate in architecture and design discussions, estimate effort, assess technical risks, and mentor other developers.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing full-stack systems with Python, Flask, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and Azure.
- Experience with spatial data, optimization logic, distributed systems, database migrations, integrations, and long-running background jobs.
- Experience with Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Static Web Apps, Application Insights, OpenTelemetry, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Bicep, and PowerShell.
- Experience with React ecosystem tools including Vite, TanStack Router and Query, Zustand, and D3.js.
- Experience with NumPy, SciPy, Shapely, constraint solving, and geometry-based logic is required for the optimization work.
- Ability to design and reason about complex systems, debug across frontend, backend, database, and cloud layers, and resolve production issues.
- Knowledge of secure API and service-to-service communication, Azure AD/MSAL, testing, code reviews, and engineering governance.
- Ability to work independently, own technical deliverables, influence architecture, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with product, domain, QA, and operations teams.
