Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and adapt AI/ML algorithms across platform sensor suites.
  • Create software interfaces to autonomously control EO, IR, acoustic, radar, and RF sensors.
  • Collaborate with sensor, tracking, and autonomy teams to deploy heterogeneous platform swarms during DoD testing and demonstrations.
  • Deploy containerized solutions to embedded Linux devices and conduct computer-in-the-loop testing, profiling, and performance-data collection.
  • Engage with DoD customers to understand use cases and requirements and triage needs during field events.
  • Triage technical issues, document ongoing work, and communicate progress internally and with customers.
  • Develop simulation tooling to replay sensors, platforms, and autonomy for post-processing field-test analysis.
  • Implement improvements for future integrations based on simulation analysis and customer feedback.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotic Engineering, Computer Science, or Optimization, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with sensor algorithms, hardware, and hardware-in-the-loop software integration may substitute for the stated education.
  • Experience with multiple sensor modalities such as EO, IR, lidar, radar, sonar, and acoustics, plus understanding of sensor physics and control parameters.
  • Experience training and deploying ML algorithms using Python, PyTorch, and TensorFlow onto integrated systems using ONNX and C++ models.
  • Experience with estimation, tracking, and sensor-fusion algorithms.
  • Comfort working in Linux and Docker, handling large datasets, and learning new software and algorithms with limited supervision.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are required.
  • Must be willing to travel for software/hardware integration and demonstrations.
  • Preferred qualifications include modern C++ development, CMake, Python, Bash, a PhD focused on AI/ML, robotic swarm or multi-agent systems, optimization, strong tracking and sensor-fusion experience, and a current U.S. SECRET clearance.

Benefits

  • In-office work is expected 5 days per week, with occasional remote-work flexibility.
  • Travel is usually required every 1–2 months for 2–5 days, estimated at 10–20%.
  • Relocation assistance to the Poway, California headquarters may be available.
  • Benefits may include health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, paid time off, equity, and base salary.
  • U.S. citizenship and an existing or obtainable U.S. security clearance are required.
