Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Java JDK 11+.
- Build features for the customer analytics platform and data processing services.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries using MySQL and Snowflake.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
- Improve software architecture, data modeling, application performance, and technical debt.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers.
- Share knowledge and mentor teammates through peer reviews and technical discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related analytical field.
- 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong commercial Java development experience using JDK 11 or later.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting production-grade backend applications.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL and Snowflake.
- Understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles, and data modeling.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Preferred experience includes Spring Boot, the wider Spring ecosystem, analytics or data platforms, cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, performance tuning, database optimization, legacy modernization, mentoring, or technical leadership.
