Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise backend and full-stack features using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and data models.
- Modernize legacy and monolithic Java applications into modular, cloud-ready architectures and support microservices designs.
- Build backend services and integrations using REST, messaging, and file-based communication patterns.
- Support Angular and React frontend teams by providing robust backend APIs.
- Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, design patterns, and layered or hexagonal architecture.
- Perform performance profiling, memory analysis, JVM tuning, and production stability improvements.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing, mocking, automated testing, and SonarQube static analysis.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum delivery activities, including planning, reviews, retrospectives, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and global stakeholder teams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development on global or enterprise projects.
- MCA or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong experience with software design patterns, layered architectures, object-oriented design, clean coding, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, performance profiling, memory analysis, and JVM tuning.
- Experience with microservices architecture, service communication, integration patterns, Hibernate or JPA, and transaction management.
- Experience with product development environments and the Product Development Lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud-native development, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of Maven or Gradle, automated builds and deployments, and SonarQube-based static code analysis.
- Understanding of Lean Agile, Scrum, Scaled Agile, Kanban, and Zero-Defect Development practices.
- Experience with shipping or logistics workflows, scientific data processing, genomics, or laboratory systems is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a continuous-improvement mindset are preferred.
