Base Salary
$150k - $188k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own technical architecture, design reviews, build-versus-buy decisions, and delivery planning for analytics and AI solutions.
- Build and maintain scalable cloud data pipelines, transformations, governed data models, semantic layers, dashboards, and data products.
- Develop agentic workflows, retrieval/RAG solutions, and LLM pipelines for business productivity and automation.
- Write production-grade SQL and Python and contribute to shared frameworks, templates, and delivery tooling.
- Establish standards for data modeling, pipeline design, testing, CI/CD, observability, data quality, contracts, lineage, and monitoring.
- Use and scale AI coding assistants and agentic tools across design, coding, testing, documentation, and operations.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design coaching, and partner on hiring and skills development.
- Own operational excellence including SLAs, incident response, compute and storage costs, data reliability, and durable root-cause fixes.
- Ensure PHI and genomic-data pipelines meet HIPAA, CLIA, security, governance, access-control, auditability, and retention requirements.
- Partner with business stakeholders, data and AI platform teams, architecture forums, and data governance groups.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of data or software engineering experience, including at least 2 years leading technical design and delivery for a team or major workstream.
- Strong mentorship, design review, code review, technical consensus-building, and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated daily hands-on use of AI coding assistants and agentic tools.
- Expert SQL skills, strong Python skills, and experience shipping and operating production data pipelines and models at scale.
- Deep experience with a modern cloud data warehouse and cloud infrastructure, preferably Snowflake and AWS.
- Hands-on experience with dbt or an equivalent transformation framework and Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar orchestration tools.
- One to two years of practical experience building with LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent LLM frameworks, managed AI services, model-routing gateways, and foundation APIs.
- Strong grounding in analytical data modeling, semantic layers, data quality engineering, and CI/CD for data systems.
- Preferred experience in healthcare, life sciences, regulated domains, lab or bioinformatics systems, Snowflake performance and cost management, BI and semantic-layer tools, agentic workflows, Terraform, data observability, Salesforce, laboratory systems, or EHR data sources.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
