Base Salary
$205k - $231k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design innovative services and features for Chainguard Images with teammates and cross-functional partners
- Develop tools and services to improve the image build system as it scales
- Own high-impact, technically complex components as a subject matter expert
- Participate in long-term planning and roadmap discussions
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in software development, data structures, algorithms, compilers, Makefiles, and toolchains
- Expertise with containers, container registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and its broader ecosystem
- Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools, including creating reusable modules and logically organizing resources
- Proficiency writing services or tools in Go
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
- Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and seek help proactively
- Open-source project authorship or contribution is preferred
