Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end software applications for partner operational needs, from architecture through deployment.
- Translate ambiguous requirements from partner militaries and organizations into working software on tight timelines.
- Build interfaces and connectors between platforms and partner systems and validate data flows in the field.
- Deploy solutions on site, gather operator feedback, and iterate quickly based on real-world results.
- Identify reusable capabilities and collaborate with the platform engineering team to incorporate them into the core product.
- Debug and resolve issues in live operational settings and document learnings.
- Build effective working relationships with client technical teams and end users.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Proficiency in Python and at least one lower-level language: C++, Rust, or Go.
- Experience defining and building end-to-end systems from ambiguous problems through deployed solutions, including through projects, internships, or early-career work.
- Ability to own software design, development, debugging, and deployment on Linux in operational or field conditions.
- Clear communication skills with client technical teams and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to work practically under constraints, including ill-defined problems and tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in English.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently on site with domestic and international partners.
- Prior forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or customer-facing engineering experience is preferred.
- Depth in computer vision, deep learning, mission planning, robotics, or embedded software is preferred.
- A degree from a leading engineering school is preferred.
