Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain platform capabilities across ingestion, resolution, and serving layers for position and account data.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure production software using Java, Spring Boot, Python, and AWS Lambda.
- Build and support cloud-native, event-driven services involving Kafka, Step Functions, Terraform-managed infrastructure, and relational databases.
- Lead architectural evaluations and technical discussions for data-platform challenges.
- Automate remediation of recurring operational issues to improve platform stability and reliability.
- Lead adoption and validation standards for approved AI-assisted engineering practices and AI-generated code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and internal teams to deliver real-time alerting, portfolio analytics, and client-facing dashboards.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in a microservices architecture.
- Practical experience with AWS cloud-native patterns, including Lambda, Step Functions, Terraform-managed infrastructure, and relational databases at scale.
- Working knowledge of event-driven systems, including Kafka producers, consumers, and consumer groups.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted development tools and validating AI-generated output.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling in engineering workflows.
- Advanced understanding of the software development lifecycle, agile delivery, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security practices.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services IT systems, ideally wealth or advisory data.
- Preferred: experience with Snowflake or other enterprise data mesh or warehouse platforms.
- Preferred: Python experience for data and Lambda workloads, React/TypeScript exposure, and experience diagnosing production data-consistency issues across multiple source-of-truth systems.
