Base Salary
$146k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build internal platforms, developer tooling, automation, documentation, and workflows that improve software development, testing, review, deployment, and operations.
- Identify high-leverage platform investments that improve engineering velocity, quality, reliability, and productivity.
- Build practical AI-powered workflows that help engineers write, review, test, and ship software more effectively.
- Partner with product engineering, infrastructure, security, and technical leaders to identify pain points and prioritize platform capabilities.
- Create intuitive, reliable paved paths and self-service capabilities that become preferred engineering workflows.
- Use engineering metrics, developer feedback, and adoption data to measure and improve developer experience.
- Help establish the technical direction, standards, and long-term evolution of the new Developer Experience Engineering team.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience building production software in modern engineering organizations.
- Experience solving organization-wide engineering problems and building products for internal engineering customers.
- Strong technical judgment regarding when to build, simplify, automate, or adopt existing solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and help build a new Platform Engineering team.
- Ability to build trust and influence through partnership rather than organizational authority.
- Strong commitment to engineering craftsmanship, maintainability, and long-term platform health.
- Practical perspective on using AI to improve engineering effectiveness.
- Preferred experience with Developer Experience or Platform Engineering teams, internal developer platforms, engineering productivity initiatives, release engineering, developer environments, software delivery systems, AI-assisted development, DORA or SPACE measurement frameworks, and high-growth engineering organizations.

- United States salary ranges vary by location: $171,500–$250,000 in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, and $146,000–$215,000 in other US states.
