Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Define and build Muon’s satellite bus platform as an integral member of the flight software team.
- Translate concepts and requirements into designs and working implementations through on-orbit operations.
- Design, bring up, and support embedded software environments for satellite flight systems and peripherals using ARM Cortex-M CPUs.
- Develop application, platform, and driver functionality and teach others to use the flight software environment.
- Evaluate and select technologies for the software foundation, infrastructure, and tools.
- Integrate compute and peripheral subsystems across software and hardware.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on Muon hardware design and bring-up.
- Establish flight software architecture and communication with cloud backends in collaboration with the software team.
- Develop software- and hardware-in-the-loop test strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience as a software engineer in a team environment.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and practical familiarity with other languages.
- Strong embedded systems fundamentals, including resource-efficient design, low-level drivers, bit manipulation, IRQ handling, RTOS frameworks, and I/O and communication buses.
- Experience integrating and controlling external hardware devices and interpreting hardware data sheets.
- Knowledge of industry-standard data formats and schemas such as ProtoBuf, YAML, and JSON is a nice-to-have.
- Familiarity with a Linux-based development environment is preferred.
- Experience with embedded Linux, FPGA, hardware design, RF communication systems, cloud/server infrastructure, or network architecture is preferred.
- Experience with end-to-end development from product concept through customer or market delivery is preferred.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
