Responsibilities
- Design and build shared platform capabilities for agentic AI systems, including orchestration, lifecycle management, memory patterns, runtime policy, and human-in-the-loop controls.
- Create agent discovery, registration, reuse, registry, marketplace, and protocol-integration capabilities.
- Define reference architectures and golden paths for multi-agent coordination, bounded autonomy, failure handling, and system evolution.
- Build secure-by-default architectures with governance, policy enforcement, auditability, access control, and delegated access patterns.
- Develop reusable AI workflow primitives and internal developer platforms for enterprise adoption.
- Partner with Cloud, Security, and ITSM teams to integrate AI workflows with existing systems and platforms.
- Drive architectural alignment and reduce fragmentation through design reviews, technical influence, reference architectures, and hands-on collaboration.
- Mentor engineers and influence technical direction as an individual contributor.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating cloud-native software systems in production, with depth in platform, infrastructure, or distributed systems.
- Expertise balancing scalability, reliability, security, cost, and developer experience tradeoffs.
- Experience designing or operating systems that use LLMs or AI models as core components, including model interaction, control flow, and failure modes.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Java or Scala for backend services, frameworks, or SDKs.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, including compute, networking, storage, and security primitives.
- Experience owning and evolving shared platform architectures as scale and requirements change.
- Ability to drive architectural alignment across teams through technical influence rather than formal authority.
- Exposure to agent frameworks, multi-agent systems, or AI orchestration tools.
- Experience with explicit state management, lifecycle control, correctness guarantees, orchestration systems, workflow engines, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, delegated access, OAuth 2.0, and related standards for service-to-service and user-mediated workflows.
- Experience building internal developer platforms, shared services, or reusable runtime frameworks.
- Interest in emerging AI capabilities and tools and their implications for system and platform design.
