Responsibilities
- Lead the technical roadmap for the ML Platform and scale training and inference infrastructure for growing ML/AI demands.
- Architect high-performance, low-latency inference solutions and optimize GPU utilization across clusters.
- Define and drive reliability standards including SLOs, error budgets, and observability for model-serving systems.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers while promoting technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Identify systemic deployment bottlenecks, write RFCs, and drive long-term architectural improvements.
- Oversee deployment workflow integration with automated experimentation such as A/B testing and shadow deployments.
- Communicate architectural risks, planned changes, and reliability trade-offs to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Track record of leading technical problem-solving for complex, domain-level systems.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes, Linux internals, and high-scale networking.
- Working experience with programming or scripting; Go is a plus and other languages are welcome.
- Ability to select tools based on long-term impact rather than personal preference.
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to explain technical risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Natural coaching and mentoring ability, with a focus on enabling the wider team.
- Experience with GPU workloads and inference frameworks such as KServe, vLLM, or NVIDIA Triton is an advantage.
