Responsibilities
- Establish production support, software deployment, configuration, monitoring, incident response, and recovery processes.
- Maintain the health and availability of Cumberland’s trading ecosystem while minimizing downtime.
- Respond to support requests from traders and software engineers.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with external trading partners, financial exchanges, and clearing firms.
- Collaborate with traders, DBAs, developers, back office, QA, infrastructure, technical support, business development, and management teams in a 24x7 environment.
- Develop automation and monitoring tools for software configuration and rollout procedures.
- Create documentation for common procedures, troubleshooting scenarios, and system architecture.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working in the financial industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field.
- Exposure to version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.
- Demonstrated scripting ability in Python and Bash.
- Comfort with SQL, Linux, and the command line.
- Experience with proprietary trading systems and troubleshooting production incidents caused by internal or external factors.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- A service-oriented mindset, tenacity in solving complex technical problems, commitment to high-quality work, and interest in continuous personal and professional growth.
