Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation and hands-on expertise as the observability subject-matter expert.
- Manage Dynatrace observability solutions covering applications, infrastructure, services, and user experience.
- Develop Python and Shell automation for monitoring setup, alerting, reporting, dashboards, and operational workflows.
- Manage cloud observability infrastructure and support migration from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments.
- Configure alerts to improve proactive monitoring and reduce noise, false positives, and operational inefficiencies.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Operations, Developers, and Platform teams to embed observability into software delivery.
- Develop SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to improve service reliability and operational visibility.
- Troubleshoot monitoring, telemetry, and platform issues across distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native environments.
- Improve incident management workflows by integrating observability insights into operational processes.
- Contribute to observability standards, documentation, best practices, knowledge-sharing, and scalable monitoring solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7–10 years of experience in Observability Engineering, Monitoring Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, or related technology roles.
- Hands-on experience with Dynatrace as a primary observability platform.
- Experience developing automation scripts with Python and Shell scripting.
- Hands-on experience managing or supporting AWS cloud infrastructure and infrastructure monitoring.
- Experience with application performance monitoring, log monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and event correlation.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps environments involving automation, cloud platforms, and operational support practices.
- At least 3 years of experience collaborating with partners, development teams, platform teams, and operations teams to implement monitoring and observability solutions.
- Preferred experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and ServiceNow Event Management.
- Cloud observability or cloud certifications, such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AWS Developer certifications, are preferred.
- Knowledge of ITIL, ITSM, incident management, and standardized telemetry collection across traces, metrics, and logs is preferred.
