Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot secure and scalable software components with consideration for upstream and downstream systems.
- Write high-quality code using at least one programming language and apply technical troubleshooting to solve problems of basic complexity.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI coding and automation tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation while validating outputs through review and testing.
- Apply SRE practices involving reliability, availability, scalability, observability, incident management, and iterative improvement.
- Analyze large and diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
- Apply software development lifecycle tools, processes, methodologies, and technical skills to improve automation and system stability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Working knowledge of SRE principles, including availability, scalability, incident management, and iterative improvement.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment.
- Familiarity with observability, including white- and black-box monitoring, service-level-objective alerting, and telemetry collection and visualization.
- Familiarity with containers, orchestration technologies, continuous integration and delivery tools, and database query languages.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience includes error budgets, capacity planning, resilience patterns, progressive delivery, automated quality gates, incident reviews, measurable remediation, infrastructure-as-code, and standardized environment provisioning.
