Responsibilities
- Engineer end-to-end ML pipelines covering data ingestion, feature engineering, training, hyperparameter optimization, evaluation, registration, and automated promotion.
- Harden research code into production-grade microservices and expose model services through secure APIs.
- Build full-stack AI applications by integrating model services with user interfaces, workflow engines, and business-logic layers.
- Optimize algorithms, model performance, GPU/CPU autoscaling, and cloud costs at scale.
- Implement observability, including metrics, distributed tracing, drift and bias detection, and user-behavior analytics.
- Embed encryption, access policies, lineage tracking, explainability, and bias monitoring in partnership with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams.
- Develop reusable feature stores, model registries, experiment-tracking libraries, and other platform components.
- Perform exploratory data analysis and feature ideation on complex datasets.
- Partner with data scientists to prototype and benchmark algorithms and co-own model-performance KPIs.
- Establish platform strategy, define technical standards, and guide enterprise AI developer experience and best practices.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in AI/ML and enterprise software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regression, tree-based ensembles, clustering, dimensionality reduction, time-series models, deep-learning architectures, LLMs, and RAG techniques.
- Experience selecting and integrating AI SaaS/PaaS offerings and building custom ML services at scale.
- Expertise with vector databases, RAG pipelines, prompt-engineering DSLs, and agent frameworks such as LangChain and Semantic Kernel.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and modern DevOps/MLOps tooling.
- Ability to model TCO versus NPV and present technical trade-offs to executives.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication, analytical, troubleshooting, presentation, and prioritization skills.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science, or a bachelor’s degree with 8 to 13+ years of experience in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Experience in biotechnology or pharma, published thought leadership or conference talks on enterprise GenAI adoption, and GenAI/ML platform certifications are preferred.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the Scaled Agile Framework is preferred.
