Senior Staff Engineer: 3D Reconstruction

Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts for reconstructing 3D models from photographic and video sources.
- Design and develop automated 3D model creation tools using photogrammetric sources such as satellite imagery and aerial photography.
- Develop software to register imagery and video with Aechelon’s 3D global terrain.
- Develop tools for automated 3D model creation from video sources.
- Develop tools for modeling, exploiting, and relighting Gaussian splats.
- Design and develop validation processes and tools for reconstructed data used in digital twin and AI training applications.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience designing and architecting software for 3D reconstruction from 2D image sources.
- Experience leading a team of peers in shipping products within delivery deadlines.
- In-depth programming experience in C and C++.
- Experience developing OpenGL, Vulkan, or Direct3D applications, including real-time engines, graphics tools, and programmable shading.
- Passion for real-time computer graphics and strong software engineering principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with export-controlled technology.
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field is required.
- Experience with rendering engines and scene graphs such as Intrinsic Alchemy, OpenSceneGraph, Unreal, Unity, or Source is preferred.
- Experience with GPU computing platforms such as OpenCL, CUDA, or DirectCompute is preferred.
- Experience with multiprocessing real-time systems and image processing software is preferred.
- Experience with defect tracking systems such as Bugzilla or Jira is preferred.
- Experience with configuration management systems such as Perforce or Git is preferred.
- Experience developing tools for geographic data, including KML, vector files, digital elevation data, and satellite imagery, is preferred.
- Experience scripting in Python is preferred.
