Responsibilities
- Define and own SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets for restaurant technology systems.
- Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability platforms.
- Lead incident response, on-call coverage, root-cause analysis, and blameless post-incident reviews.
- Reduce MTTD and MTTR through tooling, runbooks, and automation.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available AWS and Azure cloud architectures.
- Architect and manage Kubernetes workloads, including distributed edge deployments in restaurants.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and build CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/CD.
- Build internal tools, automations, middleware integrations, and serverless or container-based solutions.
- Support mobile deployments, manage MDM platforms, and troubleshoot restaurant endpoints.
- Configure and troubleshoot enterprise networking, including switches and VLANs.
- Establish cloud governance, conduct security architecture reviews, and integrate automated security scanning into CI/CD.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship and maintain documentation, runbooks, and architectural decision records.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, including at least 3 years in site reliability engineering, cloud architecture, or platform engineering.
- Hands-on AWS experience with VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate, Lambda, IAM, RDS, and S3, plus working experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong Kubernetes and container-orchestration experience, including EKS, AKS, and edge or distributed deployments.
- Experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and automation scripting using Python, Bash, Go, or equivalent.
- Experience defining and operating SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
- Experience with enterprise networking, switches, VLANs, network troubleshooting, and MDM platforms.
- Experience building internal tooling and API integrations beyond configuring managed services.
- Knowledge of cloud security, IAM strategy, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management, incident response, and Linux command-line environments.
- Preferred qualifications include serverless architecture, DevSecOps scanning tools, CIS/NIST/ISO 27001/SOC 2 frameworks, AWS or Azure certifications, observability tools, distributed edge technology, and AI-assisted development experience.
- Strong communication, collaboration, technical leadership, mentorship, and reliability-focused problem-solving skills are required.
