Responsibilities
- Own platform security across AWS, Kubernetes, and GCP, with emphasis on detection, alerting, and incident response readiness.
- Lead cross-functional platform security initiatives from problem definition through rollout, production operation, and iteration.
- Improve Datadog SIEM detection and response through better logging, actionable detections, tuning, triage workflows, escalation paths, playbooks, and runbooks.
- Strengthen cloud, Kubernetes, identity, privileged access, auditability, secrets management, workload identity, and secure deployment practices.
- Partner with SRE, Data, Engineering, and GRC teams to improve suspicious-activity and sensitive-access monitoring.
- Participate in Security on-call rotations and partner with SRE during incidents.
- Build security automation that makes secure engineering practices easier to adopt.
Requirements
- Strong experience securing cloud and platform environments, especially AWS and Kubernetes, with the ability to extend the approach to GCP.
- Hands-on experience delivering technical security initiatives end-to-end in production environments.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
- Practical identity and access security experience, including familiarity with Okta event monitoring and identity-focused detections.
- Experience building or maturing security operations capabilities, including SIEM triage, runbooks, tuning, and measurable improvement.
- Experience improving logging coverage and signal quality and building actionable, low-noise detections; Datadog SIEM experience is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, business judgment, and cross-functional influence skills.
- Minimum C1 English level.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
- Preferred experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code at scale, Jenkins hardening, CI/CD supply-chain security, Cloudflare security controls, scripting or programming, and cloud-native incident response.
