Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Lead the Machine Bootstrap pod in building and evolving provisioning and fleet-management systems at massive scale.
- Deliver fleet-wide BIOS updates, firmware updates, and configuration changes to hundreds of thousands of machines through MAPI.
- Improve provisioning performance so machines can be fully rebuilt within minutes.
- Evaluate and integrate GPU servers, AI accelerators, and other hardware platforms into the provisioning pipeline.
- Collaborate with Compute, Networking, and Cloud teams across the machine lifecycle from rack-and-stack through production.
- Build high-performance automation and developer-friendly APIs that reduce operational toil.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience with strong expertise in distributed systems and infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
- Strong proficiency in Go, C, C++, Rust, or another system-level programming language.
- Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems used by other engineering teams.
- Interest in modern server hardware, including GPU servers, AI accelerators, and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with PXE/iPXE, DHCP, BMC/IPMI/Redfish, and OS imaging is preferred; deep low-level systems experience is a bonus but not required.
- Demonstrated experience building high-performance automation at fleet scale and reducing toil through developer-friendly APIs.
Benefits
- Annual base salary range of $196,750–$243,290 USD for roles based at Roblox headquarters in San Mateo, California.
- Full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
- Office-based roles are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday unless otherwise noted.
