Responsibilities
- Embed with customers and end users to understand missions, workflows, technical environments, and operational challenges.
- Translate loosely defined customer problems into technical requirements, hypotheses, and achievable outcomes.
- Design and rapidly prototype technical solutions using Dovetail products, customer systems, and third-party technologies.
- Develop integrations, scripts, tooling, configuration, and supporting software.
- Deploy, configure, integrate, test, and troubleshoot Dovetail products across cloud, on-premises, disconnected, and edge environments.
- Diagnose end-to-end technical issues and resolve them directly or with specialist Engineering teams.
- Capture structured field feedback, reproduce issues, and communicate technical findings to Product and Engineering teams.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and practical programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, Java, or a similar language.
- Strong understanding of Linux, networking, APIs, and modern software development practices.
- Experience integrating, deploying, and troubleshooting software across cloud and/or on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working directly with customers or end users to understand problems and deliver technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and end-to-end technical ownership skills.
- Experience in live operational or mission-critical environments is desirable.
- Experience with AI/ML, data engineering, geospatial systems, or edge computing is desirable.
- Experience with disconnected, bandwidth-constrained, defence, national security, emergency services, or critical-infrastructure environments is desirable.
- Must be eligible for DV clearance.
