Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing and testing embedded software for autopilots, sensors, radios, and other onboard components.
  • Implement and support C/C++ software for real-time and bare-metal systems using microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
  • Integrate embedded software with hardware and debug systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab tools.
  • Collaborate with electrical, systems, and mechanical engineers on cohesive system development.
  • Participate in peer reviews, software documentation, and configuration management processes.
  • Contribute to laboratory and field testing of embedded systems for real-world mission scenarios.
  • Assist with prototypes and proof-of-concept demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Familiarity with C, C++, or Python.
  • Understanding of low-level software concepts such as memory management, interrupts, or device drivers.
  • Exposure to I2C, SPI, UART, or CAN hardware communication protocols.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, effective communication, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with STM32, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms; familiarity with FreeRTOS or Zephyr; exposure to Linux-based or embedded Linux development; and experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or multimeters.
  • Interest in aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems and a demonstrated curiosity and passion for learning and innovation.
  • Applicants must provide documentation verifying U.S. person status for ITAR/EAR compliance; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship.
