Responsibilities
- Execute and analyze SPEC CPU, SPECrate, SPECjbb, and cloud or microservice workloads on ARMv9 server platforms.
- Characterize CPU, cache, memory, NUMA, I/O, virtualization, and system-level behavior, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Use PMU counters, profiling tools, traces, statistical analysis, and controlled experiments to investigate regressions and root causes.
- Define performance KPIs and automate regression detection across software, firmware, and hardware updates.
- Tune Linux kernel parameters, system configurations, benchmark settings, compiler flags, toolchains, and applicable code paths.
- Develop automated benchmarking frameworks, scalable testbeds, and data collection, visualization, and reporting pipelines.
- Validate performance for hyperscalers, Kubernetes, OEM/ODM, and enterprise workloads and support customer evaluations and field issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field with 2+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree with 1+ year of experience or a PhD in a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in performance engineering, system software, or related roles is listed in the qualifications.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Strong proficiency in Python and Bash, with working knowledge of C/C++ in performance-critical environments.
- Familiarity with ARM-based server platforms, ARMv9 architecture, Linux systems and internals, virtualization, UEFI/BIOS, PCIe/CXL, NUMA, and SVE/SVE2.
- Hands-on experience running and analyzing SPEC CPU, SPECrate, and SPECjbb workloads.
- Experience with perf, VTune, ARM Streamline, TMA, Linux performance tuning, and basic statistical analysis.
- Strong understanding of CPU and system architecture, microarchitectural behavior, memory and platform architecture, benchmarking methodology, and performance analysis.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, collaboration, and data-driven problem-solving abilities.
