Base Salary
$178k - $313k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize infrastructure systems for machine learning workloads at scale.
- Improve reliability, efficiency, storage, and processing performance across Snap’s ML infrastructure.
- Develop high-performance AI model training and inference systems in the cloud.
- Build scalable systems for data collection, labeling, processing, and evaluation.
- Develop vector search algorithms to improve retrieval precision, recall, and scalability.
- Collaborate with ML engineers to deploy models into production.
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala, or C++.
- Understanding of distributed systems and large-scale ML infrastructure.
- Experience with big data processing frameworks such as Spark, Flink, or Ray.
- A proven record of operating highly available systems at significant scale.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, plus 6+ years of post-bachelor’s software development experience; alternatives include a master’s degree plus 5+ years or a PhD plus 2+ years of post-graduate software development experience.
- Experience building large-scale production machine learning systems, distributed systems, or big data processing systems.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD, experience with ML training platforms or AI model inference optimization, and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe2, Spark ML, or scikit-learn.
