Base Salary
$160k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build core components of Gusto’s ML and AI Platform roadmap, including MLOps solutions for building, deploying, running, monitoring, debugging, and retraining models.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance machine learning model development and deployment frameworks.
- Collaborate with ML/AI builders and application owners to define business requirements and SLAs for API-enabled services.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure supporting machine learning services.
- Create deployment patterns using CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Use AI tools in engineering workflows and apply AI-native thinking to engineering and product decisions.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience using Python, Ruby, or Java.
- Experience designing and developing infrastructure and platform services for the machine learning lifecycle, including feature stores, model development, deployment, and observability tools.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform, with AWS preferred.
- Curiosity and experimentation with emerging AI frameworks, including evaluating and scaling AI use safely across teams.
- Comfort with AI-assisted development tools and keeping current with emerging software development approaches.
