Base Salary
$170k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Tackle challenges involving data modeling, query compilation, and large-scale interactive analytics
- Design, build, and maintain compiler infrastructure and intermediate representations that translate spreadsheet operations into optimized query plans
- Apply optimization strategies to improve performance and accuracy across query workloads and data architectures
- Contribute to backend Rust and frontend TypeScript foundations
- Debug, analyze, and resolve complex issues to ensure robustness and maintainability
- Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders on design reviews, code reviews, technical practices, and architectural decisions
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience engineering high-quality software systems
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining complex infrastructure or core platform services
- Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, particularly compilers, algorithms, and SQL optimization
- Experience working in an iterative, high-cadence environment
- Exposure to distributed systems, query optimization, or database internals is preferred
- Experience with API or data model design for high-performance cloud services is preferred
- Familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure is preferred
- Curiosity for new languages and tools, including Rust, Go, Node, Kubernetes, and GraphQL, is preferred
