Base Salary

$240k - $300k/yr

Responsibilities

Lead technical strategy and execution for scaling Peregrine’s cloud platform and infrastructure.
Improve platform performance, reliability, security, cost efficiency, and developer experience.
Automate the provisioning of new regions and customer environments.
Build autoscaling and right-sizing systems to reduce cloud costs while preserving capacity headroom.
Strengthen reliability, incident response, and operational practices for mission-critical services.
Build tooling, guardrails, documentation, and self-service paths that help product teams deploy, observe, and debug services.
Partner with traffic engineering on routing, load balancing, capacity, and related technical direction.
Mentor engineers, review designs, establish technical direction, and promote operational ownership.

Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale, with direct ownership of platform, networking, or traffic systems.
Hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
Working knowledge of load balancing, service mesh, autoscaling, CDN/edge routing, and capacity planning.
Track record of reducing cloud costs through architecture and tooling without compromising reliability.
Experience with cloud and network security best practices and compliance-driven environments.
Ability to build developer tools, guardrails, and documentation that improve platform usability and safety.
Experience operating systems under production load, including on-call ownership and incident response.
Strong technical vision, roadmap development, cross-functional influence, and mentoring ability.
Located in San Francisco, California, and open to working in the office.
