Base Salary
$143k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed storage solutions for data-intensive AI workloads.
- Develop exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage and integrate dedicated storage clusters into customer environments.
- Optimize storage performance using RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, distributed filesystem protocols, and related technologies.
- Improve the reliability, durability, security, and observability of the storage stack.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve storage systems in production with operations teams.
- Develop metrics and dashboards and analyze telemetry to improve throughput, latency, and resilience.
- Collaborate with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver storage capabilities across the stack.
- Share knowledge and mentor engineers on distributed, high-performance systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in storage systems engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on experience with object storage or distributed filesystems in production environments.
- Experience with storage protocols such as S3 or NFS and filesystems such as Ceph or DAOS.
- Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Go, C, or Rust.
- Proficiency leveraging AI tools to augment software development.
- Familiarity with ClickHouse, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar storage observability and telemetry tools.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architectures.
- Expertise in data persistence on physical media, high-performance data transfer using RDMA, or resilient distributed systems is valued.
