Responsibilities
- Engineer scalable and resilient backend systems using Node.js and Rust on AWS.
- Drive the technical vision and direction of the platform.
- Design highly scalable and resilient cloud services.
- Set technical direction, influence peers, and drive meaningful change across teams.
- Develop strategies to manage complexity and improve engineering efficiency.
- Build, modernize, or migrate complex systems at scale.
- Define integration strategies with third-party platforms and commercial off-the-shelf products.
- Establish knowledge-sharing practices and lead cross-team and organization-level initiatives.
- Contribute to AI-assisted engineering practices such as harness engineering and spec-driven workflows.
- Mentor engineers and act as a technical role model and advocate for the developer community.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience developing customer-focused, web-based services using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience with modern programming languages such as Rust or Python.
- Proven ability to design highly scalable, resilient cloud services on AWS.
- Strong experience setting technical direction and influencing peers across teams.
- Experience working with stateless, highly transactional end-user products.
- Experience contributing to agile, autonomous, delivery-focused teams.
- Experience introducing and scaling AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Experience establishing knowledge-sharing patterns and leading cross-team or organization-level initiatives.
- Experience defining integrations with third-party platforms and commercial off-the-shelf products.
- Experience building, modernizing, or migrating complex systems at scale.
- Experience in the media or streaming industry is a bonus.
