Senior Solution Engineer- (AI & Start-Ups). Los Angeles
CloudflareResponsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and qualification for digital-native and cloud-developer customers.
- Join sales-led discovery calls early and remain embedded with customer teams through Slack channels and working sessions.
- Map customer product-development and AI initiatives to Cloudflare’s Developer Platform and build technical champions.
- Develop and deliver tailored technical content, architecture discussions, demos, and proof-of-concept builds.
- Evangelize Cloudflare’s Developer Platform and advise customers on application, platform, and industry best practices.
- Create reference architectures, demos, blog posts, and other internal and external knowledge-sharing content.
- Represent Cloudflare at developer, community, technology, and industry events through thought leadership.
- Partner with sales on new account acquisition, existing-account expansion, technical wins, and adoption roadmaps.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Solutions Engineer or another customer-facing technical role, ideally with developer-led, cloud-native, or startup organizations.
- Credible knowledge of software architecture, APIs, platform design, and technical discovery, with the ability to engage developers through CTOs.
- Experience with pre-sales or technical sales, technical validation, relationship building, and managing multiple stakeholder relationships.
- Experience building or meaningfully contributing to web applications and sufficient scripting or programming familiarity to read code and build demos.
- Understanding of serverless or edge application platforms, AI/GenAI patterns including inference, RAG, and vector databases, and Cloudflare’s Developer Platform.
- Knowledge of HTTP, reverse and forward proxies, WAF, CDN, DDoS mitigation, firewalls, TLS, VPN, DLP, TCP, UDP, DNS, IPv4, IPv6, BGP, GRE, SD-WAN, MPLS, global traffic management, ZTNA, SASE, identity, and authentication.
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, relevant regulatory requirements, and the ability to translate technical concepts for varied audiences.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, executive communication, prioritization, project management, relationship-building, and consensus-building abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience; an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is also described as desirable but not strict.
- Ability and willingness to work in Los Angeles, travel up to 50%, and potentially meet export-control authorization requirements without sponsorship for an export license.
