Base Salary
$179k - $252k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy and execution for scalable, secure cloud-native systems across development and infrastructure.
- Own end-to-end delivery of platform and cloud services, including infrastructure, application architecture, APIs, deployment pipelines, observability, reliability, and performance.
- Design and implement distributed and scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
- Deploy services on containerized systems and establish architecture standards and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineers, lead cross-functional alignment, and coordinate projects across device, web, backend, and infrastructure teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, product, and marketing teams to shape product vision and user experiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience architecting and implementing distributed and scalable systems.
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot-based application development.
- Knowledge of private cloud infrastructure layers including VMs, VPCs, storage, and IAM.
- Experience deploying services on Kubernetes, Docker, or Nomad.
- In-depth knowledge of observability and related tools.
- Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and turn requirements into actionable solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Preferred: experience designing scalable database schemas with Postgres or DynamoDB.
- Preferred: knowledge of disaster recovery strategies and multi-region development.
- Preferred: experience designing interfaces for factory lines, mobile devices, and web applications.
- Preferred: familiarity with software security and systems managing sensitive user data.
