Base Salary
$209k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and operate hosting, deployment environments, databases, networking, and access controls for employee-built applications.
- Assess and implement suitable hosting and development platforms with platform engineering, security, data, and business teams.
- Create repeatable deployment paths from local prototypes to secure, reliable cloud environments.
- Maintain integrations with enterprise tools and business systems such as Slack, Gmail, Google Sheets, Salesforce, Looker, and BigQuery.
- Design Git and GitHub version-control, code-review, release, and rollback workflows.
- Build reusable infrastructure patterns and automation using infrastructure as code where appropriate.
- Establish secure application-hosting foundations for identity, secrets, environment separation, data access, backups, monitoring, and incident response.
- Guide employees through application setup, deployment, launch, and ongoing operations, and provide responsive troubleshooting support.
- Gather user feedback and improve platform workflows, documentation, examples, and support.
- Document architecture, deployment procedures, integration patterns, operational ownership, and maintenance expectations.
Requirements
- Experience building or operating cloud infrastructure and application deployment environments, ideally on Google Cloud Platform or another major cloud provider.
- Strong understanding of application hosting, networking, databases, identity and access management, and production operations.
- Experience with version-control systems, especially Git and GitHub, including code review, release, and rollback workflows.
- Experience automating infrastructure and deployments with tools such as Terraform and CI/CD systems.
- Experience integrating applications with APIs and business systems, with practical knowledge of authentication, authorization, and secret storage.
- Customer-focused approach to infrastructure and ability to make complex technical workflows approachable for non-professional software engineers.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and judgment balancing speed, simplicity, security, reliability, and cost.
- Preferred experience building internal developer or citizen-developer platforms and paved paths.
- Preferred experience with Vercel, Superblocks, Lovable, AI-assisted development workflows, Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, and enterprise productivity integrations.
- Preferred experience supporting applications with sensitive data or strong access boundaries.
