Software Engineering Specialist- Python Fullstack
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and data layers.
- Develop reusable frontend components, preferably with Angular, and backend services and REST APIs in Python.
- Design, build, and optimize APIs and data access using SQL and relational databases.
- Write documented, testable production code and maintain unit and integration tests.
- Troubleshoot full-stack application and production issues and support root cause analysis.
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows, build pipelines, deployment readiness, and production support.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, QA, and cross-functional partners on roadmap delivery.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and Agile delivery using Azure DevOps.
- Use GitHub Copilot and Claude Code responsibly for coding, refactoring, documentation, and testing workflows.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of professional software engineering experience in full-stack product development environments.
- For roles outside the USA, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a STEM major with basic experience is required.
- Strong frontend development skills with Angular preferred, including component-based architecture, TypeScript, and responsive web development.
- Strong Python backend development experience building and maintaining production-grade services or APIs.
- Experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.
- Strong SQL and relational database knowledge, including schema design, query optimization, and data access patterns.
- Hands-on experience writing unit and integration tests.
- Experience with Git-based version control and Agile/Scrum delivery teams using Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.
- Preferred experience includes Angular in enterprise applications, Java, AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Selenium, enterprise SaaS or B2B products, secure coding, performance optimization, and production support.
