Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate core identity services for authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management.
- Architect scalable, secure APIs and unify identity systems across Splunk and Cisco products.
- Work with Go services and existing C++ components, including integration and incremental modernization.
- Apply modern identity protocols and authorization models, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, RBAC, and ABAC.
- Support automated testing, debugging, observability, production operations, performance profiling, and incident response.
- Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Explore AI/ML opportunities to improve automation and identity protection.
Requirements
- Strong, recent hands-on C++ and/or Go experience building secure, scalable, high-throughput production services.
- Experience designing and operating secure, distributed, fault-tolerant systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, token and session lifecycle, RBAC, and ABAC.
- Strong automated-testing, debugging, observability, and production-support skills.
- Preferred: sufficient C++ experience to read, understand, and diagnose Splunkd or authentication-integration code.
- Preferred: experience with OAuth device-code flow, CLI authentication, Okta, service identities, secure-production-access workflows, LDAP, KV Store, SAML migration or deprecation, Kubernetes-based service operations, and identity-platform integration.
- Preferred: experience with performance profiling, complex production debugging, incident response, Go-based sidecars, service runtimes, host/service integration, E2E test pipelines, production dashboards, secure-access auditing, access windows, session management, or policy enforcement.
