Responsibilities
- Integrate AI models with robotic hardware, sensors, and embedded systems.
- Improve the robustness, reliability, and safety of robotic systems in real-world environments.
- Test and validate algorithms in simulation and real-world deployments.
- Analyze field data to improve model performance and system reliability.
- Bring up, tune, and debug autonomy stacks covering localization, mapping, navigation, and perception.
- Develop and tune navigation behaviors including path planning and obstacle avoidance.
- Diagnose and fix end-to-end failures such as mapping drift, localization dropouts, perception edge cases, and timing issues.
- Collaborate with robotics, machine learning, and systems engineers to deliver autonomous solutions from prototype through production.
- Build and maintain tooling for deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of deployed systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Strong software engineering skills in Python and/or C++, including production-quality, readable, high-performance code.
- Knowledge of robotics frameworks such as ROS or ROS2.
- Experience with perception and state estimation, including SLAM, localization and mapping, path planning, sensor fusion, or computer vision.
- Strong mathematical fundamentals in geometry, probability, and estimation.
- Familiarity with simulation tools and robotics development environments such as Isaac Sim or Gazebo.
- Fluent English, excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, and comfort working in interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience deploying machine learning models on embedded or edge hardware is preferred.
- Experience with LiDAR, depth cameras, IMUs, calibration, and time synchronization is preferred.
- Exposure to VLM/VLA or other foundation-model approaches for robot perception and control is preferred.
- Experience with challenging-environment navigation, visual-inertial odometry, autonomy tooling, behavior trees, dynamic costmaps, or fleet-level navigation is preferred.
- Contributions to open-source robotics or machine learning projects and experience in safety-critical or regulated environments are preferred.
- A track record through personal projects, professional projects, or academia is preferred.
