Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design complex system specifications for clinical and business healthcare systems.
  • Develop, modify, test, maintain, install, and debug integration and interface solutions.
  • Perform data mapping, interface administration, code and routine development, and data interchange format design.
  • Resolve and escalate integration issues involving Epic Bridges, interface engines, managed file transfer, and related tools.
  • Provide technical consulting to application teams, vendors, and customers on integrating information technologies into clinical and business processes.
  • Document data policies, standards, procedures, system designs, and requirements specifications.
  • Improve physical designs and communicate technical requirements in both technical and user-friendly language.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • At least five years of experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and debugging Corepoint or another interface engine.
  • At least five years of experience developing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and debugging Epic Bridges interfaces.
  • Minimum two years of healthcare-environment experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge in at least two integration or interoperability areas, including HL7, XML, X12, FTP, TCP/IP, APIs, web calls, managed file transfer, Epic CareEverywhere, Epic Interconnect, or Microsoft SQL.
  • Ability to analyze and design complex, multi-service clinical and business technical systems.
  • Epic certification required within six months of hire, with two test retakes allowed; other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of one or more clinical or business areas such as laboratory, pharmacy, health plans, ERP, OnBase, patient access, ambulatory, inpatient, Epic Security, Data Courier, or immunization administration.
  • Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, written, oral, interpersonal, and listening skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment and work collaboratively.
