Responsibilities
- Deliver features and architectural improvements for automated moderation pipelines, Reviewer tools, DevHub, and Add-ons application systems.
- Build and maintain Python/Django, MySQL, React/TypeScript, and asynchronous processing systems.
- Create internal developer platforms and tools that help engineering teams develop, deploy, observe, and operate software safely.
- Improve CI/CD, testing, deployment, infrastructure-as-code, observability, monitoring, incident response, and platform reliability practices.
- Define and maintain engineering standards covering production readiness, code review, runbooks, on-call practices, recoverability, documentation, and safe deployment.
- Debug complex production issues across frontend, backend, asynchronous jobs, data stores, and infrastructure.
- Write design documents, Architecture Decision Records, runbooks, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, design, leadership, reviewers, support, and community contributors while mentoring peers and sharing knowledge.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications with Python/Django.
- Experience operating and improving reliable production software systems and debugging complex production issues.
- Strong experience with CI/CD systems, declarative pipelines, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with automated testing, integration testing, deployment workflows, and staged or progressive delivery.
- Strong understanding of observability, including metrics, logging, tracing, service-level objectives, and actionable alerting.
- Experience building or maintaining internal tools or platforms for engineering teams.
- Experience improving engineering practices such as code review standards, operational readiness, runbooks, incident response, on-call expectations, and definitions of done.
- Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases and trace behavior across frontend, backend, asynchronous jobs, data stores, and infrastructure.
- Strong technical writing, collaboration, communication, iterative delivery, and peer-mentoring skills.
- Bonus: experience with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code tooling, SLOs and error budgets, chaos engineering, disaster recovery testing, production readiness reviews, trust and safety, automated moderation, abuse prevention, or open-source contributions.
