Responsibilities
- Build and evolve internal tools that help developers instrument and understand user behavior data.
- Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to create intuitive and scalable developer experiences.
- Design and maintain APIs that integrate smoothly with Spotify’s web clients, including desktop and TV platforms.
- Evolve and maintain JavaScript SDKs to support new capabilities within the user behavior infrastructure.
- Identify friction points in adoption and integration, and continuously improve the developer experience.
- Contribute to backend systems and services that support data collection and processing at scale.
- Take part in an on-call rotation to support the reliability and performance of the platform.
Requirements
- Experienced working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure in a fullstack environment.
- Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, including modern development, testing, and debugging practices.
- Comfortable building applications using React and working with backend systems in Java.
- Cares deeply about developer experience and enjoys building intuitive, reliable APIs and tools.
- Has a quality mindset and thinks holistically about software development, from coding to deployment and monitoring.
- Experience building user-friendly web applications and understanding what makes a great user experience.
- Curious and collaborative, enjoys working with cross-functional partners to solve complex problems.
- Exposure to areas such as GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC, protobuf, or large-scale data pipelines.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance development workflows.
