Base Salary
$170k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build the internal developer platform, including golden-path templates, self-service tooling, local development environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage GCP, AWS, and/or Azure infrastructure using Terraform and controller-based provisioning.
- Operate Kubernetes fleets, including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, autoscaling, node management, and multi-cluster patterns.
- Define application packaging and deployment practices using Helm.
- Design service mesh, ingress, mTLS, routing, rate limiting, canary delivery, circuit breaking, and RPC traffic management.
- Own Argo CD release and deployment workflows, including GitOps, progressive delivery, rollback safety, and environment promotion.
- Build and operate observability using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, logging, alerting, and templated dashboards.
- Develop zero-trust access, VPN connectivity, short-lived credentials, and on-prem connectivity.
- Partner with Security on secrets management, policy-as-code, HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance, and secure-by-default patterns.
- Make architectural decisions and establish infrastructure patterns for other engineering teams.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering roles.
- Experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset focused on developer customers.
- Experience with public cloud platforms and managed cloud services, including GCP, AWS, and Azure.
- Experience with on-premises or hybrid environments and data center or cloud migrations.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and Pulumi.
- Experience with controller-based infrastructure management, including Crossplane and Kubernetes operators.
- Experience with service mesh technologies and software-defined networking.
- Experience with GitOps and progressive delivery tools such as Argo CD, Flux, and Kargo.
- Experience with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare or finance with HIPAA and SOC 2 obligations.
