Base Salary
$95k - $187k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver core components of the Atlas Stream Processing execution engine.
- Shape system architecture, development practices, and escalation policies as the team and product grow.
- Design, write, test, debug, and performance-tune distributed and highly concurrent software.
- Identify problems, implement solutions, and deliver complex database or distributed-systems projects.
- Mentor fellow engineers and assume ownership and accountability for projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues on core stream processing functionality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building database services, distributed systems, and/or foundational cloud services at scale.
- Strong background in database internals or core data processing components, including query execution, storage engines, autotuning, or workload optimization.
- Proven ability to maintain large, long-lived distributed or highly concurrent codebases.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and experience with software design, testing, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication, collaboration, project ownership, and mentoring skills.
- Track record of identifying problems, implementing solutions, and delivering complex projects.
- Hands-on modern C++ experience in performance-sensitive systems is preferred.
- Experience with stream processing, query engines, Flink, Spark, Beam, Kafka Streams, or database query engines is preferred.
