Base Salary
$150k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native platform components and services from design through production.
- Lead well-scoped projects by translating requirements and ideas into technical designs and delivered software.
- Build operators, controllers, automation, and platform services used by other teams.
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call participation.
- Collaborate with senior, staff, and principal engineers on platform architecture and standards.
- Mentor and onboard junior engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and pairing.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience with a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years with a master’s degree, 3+ years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
- Experience with at least one major hyperscaler, including core compute, networking, and IAM primitives.
- Strong programming skills in Go or another systems language with willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Knowledge of containers, CI/CD, GitOps-based delivery, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Track record of delivering complex features or services as a key contributor.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes controllers, the operator pattern, container networking, service mesh, workload identity, mTLS, secrets management, metrics, tracing, and dashboards.
- Experience integrating or critically evaluating AI in engineering work, coding, operations, workflow automation, or software and infrastructure development.
