Responsibilities
- Develop spacecraft command and data handling, automation, and visualization software for LEO, re-entry, interplanetary, and proximity operations missions.
- Build full-stack web applications covering database schemas, backend services, frontend interfaces, and machine-to-machine communications.
- Support live spacecraft operations through on-call technical expertise and ground-based test campaigns.
- Architect and evolve scalable ground software systems adaptable to diverse mission requirements.
- Facilitate scrum activities, conduct code reviews, approve software architectures, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- A degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline plus at least two years of professional experience is required.
- Full-stack development experience with Python for asynchronous backend development and TypeScript with Angular, React, or Vue for frontend applications is required.
- Knowledge of relational database design and SQL, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud providers, and Linux is required.
- Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing and comprehensive test coverage is required.
- Experience leading technical meetings, working with Agile scrum methodologies, and collaborating across functions is required.
- Preferred qualifications include distributed systems and third-party integration experience, including metrics collection, message brokers, and time-series databases such as InfluxDB.
- Preferred qualifications include DevOps, CI/CD pipeline, REST API, TCP, WebSockets, real-time communications, satellite operations, CONOPS, mission documentation, and highly available or fault-tolerant system experience.
