Base Salary

$115k - $235k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed-system components for high-throughput and hyperscale workloads.
  • Define scalability, availability, durability, correctness, and operational-readiness requirements for owned components.
  • Design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, failover, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
  • Build KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, performance tests, load tests, and complex fault-injection validation scenarios.
  • Implement replication and synchronization techniques that preserve data integrity and availability.
  • Diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues; participate in operational support rotations and root-cause investigations.
  • Implement security controls, execute remediation plans, and maintain cloud-compliance documentation.
  • Develop infrastructure automation and change-management plans for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
  • Coordinate moderately complex tasks and projects, provide technical oversight, mentor junior team members, and participate in candidate interviews.

Requirements

  • Experience leading development and beginning architecture of scalable distributed systems and components.
  • Expertise in high-throughput systems, large-scale data retrieval, storage, processing, distributed state management, and elasticity.
  • Ability to design fault-tolerant, durable systems with redundancy, replication, failover, consistency, availability, and partition-tolerance strategies.
  • Experience with performance and load testing, telemetry, dashboards, alerting, fault injection, brownouts, and synchronization.
  • Experience diagnosing production incidents, conducting root-cause investigations, and supporting operational readiness.
  • Knowledge of multi-tenant security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation, cloud compliance, and infrastructure automation.
  • Ability to coordinate moderately complex initiatives, provide technical oversight, collaborate with stakeholders, coach team members, and contribute to hiring decisions.
