Base Salary
$228k - $339k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define product architecture, including service boundaries, data models, API contracts, runtime design, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Design and build agent orchestration, knowledge bases, retrieval systems, tool-calling, multi-cloud execution, and related platform layers.
- Own customer-facing APIs, SDKs, and developer tooling for external users.
- Lead technical execution through engineering standards, design reviews, technical decisions, and delivery coordination.
- Mentor engineers and raise the team’s technical quality bar.
- Build and maintain production software and scalable cloud-native systems.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software development experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud architectures and service-oriented or cloud-native services on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong server-side engineering experience with one or more of Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
- Production experience building RESTful APIs and microservices backed by SQL and/or NoSQL data stores.
- Experience designing distributed systems, cloud-native products, or developer infrastructure and scaling them to production.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD for large, interconnected deployment pipelines.
- Knowledge of authentication, authorization, OAuth, SSO, encryption, and compliance fundamentals.
- Ability to make technical tradeoffs involving performance, maintainability, cost, and time-to-market and align teams around technical decisions.
- Clear written and verbal communication with executives and engineers and effective collaboration across engineering, product, and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience designing AI agent systems or LLM-powered products with production model inference, tool calling, RAG, and prompt orchestration.
- Preferred: familiarity with agentic design patterns, including tool-use protocols, context management, multi-step reasoning, and grounding models in enterprise data.
- Preferred: experience building developer-facing products, APIs, or SDKs used by external customers at scale.
- Preferred: experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
- Preferred: background in enterprise infrastructure, cloud data services, or storage systems and experience building products end-to-end inside a larger company.
- Preferred: prior experience as a principal engineer or technical lead in a high-performance engineering organization.
- Front-end experience with TypeScript, React, or Angular is a plus.
