Base Salary
$133k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate critical scalable services including user identity, friend graph, and core persistence systems.
- Work across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions for innovative products.
- Independently execute medium-sized features spanning several weeks and multiple pull requests.
- Test, debug, and maintain high-quality, production-ready code.
- Apply best practices for availability, scalability, operational excellence, cost management, correctness, and security.
- Participate in incident or hotfix investigation and resolution as needed.
- Use AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows while auditing generated output for architecture, performance, and security risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science, or equivalent years of practical work experience.
- At least 2 years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or a master’s degree with at least 1 year of post-graduate software development experience, or a PhD in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with distributed systems and backend services.
- A proven track record operating highly available systems at significant scale.
- Experience in at least one of large-scale microservices and distributed systems, cloud computing and storage, infrastructure and large-scale system design, security, networking and data storage, or machine learning and natural language processing tools.
- Preferred experience with Java, C++, Python, NoSQL solutions, Memcache or Redis, Kubernetes, or Google and AWS services.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and adapt to evolving AI systems and engineering tools.
