Responsibilities
- Build new capabilities and features in the automation framework used by the QA team.
- Set up and implement functional and non-functional test automation strategies for one or more modules.
- Manage and maintain test coverage through periodic reports to engineering and stakeholders.
- Create test strategies and test plans for short-term and long-term projects.
- Perform hands-on testing and quality engineering across application, API, automation, and infrastructure layers.
- Create test plans, estimate effort, define automation strategies, and investigate failures through debugging and root-cause analysis.
- Test and debug applications in distributed, cloud-native systems, including analysis of logs, traces, service interactions, and failure scenarios.
- Identify quality risks and improvements while collaborating with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in automation testing and experience in a product development company.
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with Java for test automation and a scripting language such as Python.
- Experience with TestNG, Maven, HTTP clients, REST and web services test automation, Selenium, and Appium.
- Experience with API testing using RestAssured or similar frameworks, database queries, joins, and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, including test planning, test case design, test execution, defect management, and quality ownership.
- Experience with design patterns and testing or debugging distributed, cloud-native systems.
- Understanding of frontend and backend technologies such as React.js, Angular, Golang, Servlets, Bootstrap, input stream processing, JavaScript, and Node.js is a plus.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, analytical, communication, collaboration, and independent execution skills.
