Responsibilities
- Build and scale a performance testing platform used by developer teams across Search.
- Capture and replay production-scale traffic for development-environment load testing.
- Develop statistical and analytical methods to map development results to production behavior.
- Design load-test frameworks with configurable load shapes and concurrency control.
- Build reliable, scalable infrastructure for processing large volumes of traffic and results data.
- Use observability tooling to root-cause performance regressions.
- Collaborate with product and information intelligence teams on infrastructure powering Apple products.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software development experience, including designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems and backend infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and their application in large-scale systems.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience with regression analysis, capacity modeling, traffic capture and replay, configurable load shapes, concurrency control, observability tooling, Kubernetes, workflow orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
