Responsibilities
- Build simple, intuitive insurance purchasing experiences across devices and platforms.
- Create customer-facing capabilities for documenting property damage and improving the claims process.
- Design rating engines that calculate insurance policy pricing.
- Combine property intelligence API sources to identify flood, fire, and vandalism risks.
- Work across product and engineering to shape user experiences and make pragmatic delivery-focused technical decisions.
- Deploy production code quickly and iteratively using the company’s web, service-oriented, and event-driven stack.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building web applications and service-oriented architecture.
- Ability to enter and contribute to a complex codebase with limited ramp-up time.
- Product-minded approach with thoughtful opinions about user experience and willingness to work without fully specified requirements.
- Pragmatic judgment balancing speed, quality, off-the-shelf solutions, and custom development.
- Willingness and ability to learn the company’s languages and frameworks; prior experience with the listed stack is not required.
- Prior experience as a team lead is a plus.
