Base Salary
$191k - $340k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end security architectures and trust boundaries across vehicle hardware, onboard systems, safety-critical ECUs, connected platforms, services, infrastructure, and applications.
- Establish secure boot flows, cryptographic key management, HSM/TPM integrations, and secure protocols for data at rest, in transit, and cloud-to-vehicle interactions.
- Lead threat modeling, including TARA and STRIDE, vulnerability analysis, security assessments, and secure design reviews for autonomous vehicle, cloud, compute, sensor, network, and infrastructure systems.
- Translate security requirements into implementable engineering designs, assess product risk, and influence cross-functional product, software, hardware, and security teams.
- Drive security requirements with suppliers and Tier 1 development partners and evaluate third-party components and intellectual property.
- Develop security investment roadmaps and resolve cross-functional technical dependencies with program managers, technical leads, and engineers.
- Develop and enforce security assurance, governance, and risk mitigation strategies throughout hardware and software product lifecycles.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in security architecture, system security engineering, or product security roles involving automotive, autonomous vehicles, embedded systems, or complex hardware/software systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related STEM field.
- Deep expertise in embedded security, hardware security anchors, Secure Boot, ARM TrustZone, HSMs, TPMs, applied cryptography, and secure protocol design.
- Experience with SecOC, CAN/Ethernet security, TLS, architectural security assessments, system-level threat modeling, and secure design reviews for hardware and software platforms.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional engineering teams and drive architectural decisions.
- Knowledge of automotive and cloud security standards and regulations such as ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE, ISO 27001, and UNECE R155/R156.
- Experience engaging OEMs, Tier 1 organizations, suppliers, or commercial partners and designing secure systems across autonomous vehicle stacks, safety-critical ECUs, telemetry, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience building and scaling security architecture frameworks in safety-critical or heavily regulated industries.
- Advanced security architecture or engineering certification such as CISSP-ISSAP or CISM, or equivalent.
